Jeanette’s Journey

For thirty-six years crocheting and tatting have been my chosen medium. Stylish one-of-a kind accessories are a pleasure to make. It is a joy and a privilege to present to you these works. I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoyed crafting them! If you would like to place a custom order based off of something that you see, please contact me: shieldsjeanette34@gmail.com

In eighth grade a classmate taught me basic crochet stitches, and in 2011 a needlecraft book editor taught me to tat (a lace making technique). In college I majored in classical guitar. Two years after receiving my Bachelor's degree, I got a comprehensive crochet book and continued my education in needlecrafting. I learned to read patterns and started designing dresses. Most of the time it is just a mental image that gets me excited.

“David gave me the tools to begin participating in the jazz scene of Saint Petersburg, thanks to his lessons and generously introducing me to his local music contacts. David's genuine, pragmatic yet humorous approach also helped me grow my confidence enough to start my opera studies at Elena Obratzova Academy. Thank you for your continued support and encouragement!”

“David is a wonderful voice teacher. He helped me to feel more confident as a singer. David has a huge experience as a singer himself so his advices were spot on. There’re a few things about singing and performing that I will always remember. To name a few, David taught me the right way to breathe, to sing in a way that every note would soothe a baby, to treat my audience as friends.”
Svetlana Krasikova, amateur singer, Saint Petersburg, Russia
